BAMS’s full form is Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. It is a doctor course in Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a very old Indian medical system. In this course, students learn about herbs, natural medicine, body treatment, and surgery also. Many students want to become doctors after 12th class. But MBBS seats are very few, and competition is very high. So many students choose the BAMS course.

Private college fees for BAMS are more than government college fees. Government college fees are low, but seats are very limited. Private colleges have more seats, but fees are high.
The BAMS course duration is 5.5 years. It includes 4.5 years of study and a 1-year internship. Internship means students work in a hospital and learn practical things. During study time, students learn about Ayurveda books, the human body, medicine making, surgery, and patient care.

Private colleges charge fees every year. Fees can be different in every state and every college. Some colleges take 2 lakh per year. Some colleges take 3 lakh per year. Some very big private colleges take 4 to 5 lakh per year. So total fees become very high.
In India, average BAMS fees in private colleges are around 2 lakh to 4 lakh per year. So full course fees can be 10 lakh to 20 lakh rupees. Some colleges also take extra money for hostels, messes, books, uniforms, exams, and other activities.
Students also need to qualify for the NEET exam for admission. Without NEET, admission is not possible in most colleges. After the NEET result, counselling happens, and students get seats in private or government colleges.
Many students and parents worry about fees because it is a big amount. But some colleges give installment options. Some banks also give education loans. So students can pay slowly.

Some private colleges are very famous and have good hospitals. Those colleges take more fees because they give better facilities. They have a big campus, library, lab, herbal garden, and hospital training. Students learn many practical things there.
But some small private colleges are also available. Their fees may be a little less. But before taking admission, students should check college approval. College must be approved by the government and the Ayurvedic council. If the college is not approved, the degree may not be valid.
Now I’ll tell about the yearly fee structure a little more clearly. In the first year, students pay admission fees, security fees, and tuition fees. First-year fees are mostly higher because an admission charge is included. In the second, third, and fourth years, fees are mostly the same as tuition fees only. Internship years sometimes have no tuition fees, but some colleges take a small amount.
Parents should always check the official website of the college for correct fees. Because every year fees can increase. Private colleges sometimes increase fees little by little every year.
Many parents think BAMS is cheap, but private college BAMS is not cheap. It needs proper financial planning. Some students take education loans. After completing the course, they work in a hospital or open their own clinic and then repay the loan.
After BAMS, students can earn good money. They can work in an Ayurvedic hospital, a government job, a private clinic, or open their own clinic. Some students also do MD in Ayurveda for higher study. So the future is good if students study well.
Private colleges also provide hostel facilities. Hostel fees depend on room type. Single rooms cost more. Sharing a room costs less. AC rooms cost more than non-AC rooms. Mess fees include food cost.
Books of BAMS are also a little costly. Ayurveda books are big and heavy. Students need to buy many books in the first year. Later years also need books.
Some colleges also take caution money, which is returned after the course is finished.
So in simple words, BAMS fees in private colleges are between 15 lakh and 30 lakh for the full course, including hostel and other expenses. It is a big amount, but if a student is serious and hardworking, it can be a good career.
I think students should choose college carefully. Not only see low fees but also see hospital training, teacher quality, infrastructure, and approval. A good college helps a student become a good doctor.
At last I say that BAMS is a good medical course in Ayurveda. Private college fees are high, but there are many options available for payment. If a student studies with a full heart and interest, he or she can become a successful Ayurvedic doctor and help many people.
